I love children’s fashion as much as the next mom, but you know what I love even more? Having kids who don’t give a rat’s ass about what they wear.

Oh Mommyfriend, our boys are cut from the same cloth (pun totally intended). My 4- and 5-year old boys are all about “comfy pants” and tagless tees. I too pine away at the images of My Imaginary Well-Dress Toddler on Pinterest, and often wish my boys aspired to be future Ralph Lauren models, but at the end of the day, who am I kidding?! I LOVE that they are happy to wear the same Star Wars Angry Birds shirt I picked up for half price at Old Navy (though I don’t appreciate the tantrums when they learn said shirts are most-certainly dirty and need to be laundered) – it leaves more cash in the coffers to spend on myself. I’ve even learned to avoid the daily dressing hassle by threatening to pick out their outfits if they don’t get themselves dressed when they wake up each day (which translates to polo shirts and shorts with buttons and zippers) . I’ve not totally abandoned leaving some impression of fashion sense on them. Just this morning my older son advised me that he had chosen to wear a gray Angry Birds shirt (shocker) with a specific pair of pants, because they “are gray like my shirt.” At least they are attempting to match comfy top with comfy bottom J
Thanks for continuing to keep me entertained!
