The Skinny Bitch Diaries: Week 1

This handy dandy chart right here is a fancy way of showing you that I lost 2 lbs. on Weight Watchers last week. WW is so cool with all these charts and graphs!

I know real and lasting weight loss is supposed to happen slowly but when you’ve given up dairy almost completely and cheese is your kryptonite, even a week without cheese can feel like an eternity. And while I know I’m allowed to have cheese, the points are just too expensive my friends.

I’m proud to say I made it through a banquet (with killer Mexican food) and a baby shower (with nachos) last week and somehow managed to stay in track. I said NACHOS people!

Maybe it’s because I’ve worn the same pair of jeans for the last three days but I swear my clothes are feeling looser. My baby bump is slowly deflating and I’m feeling pretty darn good on account of swapping chips for fruits and veggies. My hydration is at an all time high and I even bought a couple of cute workout duds to get my booty moving.

This experience has become much more than a diet, but rather a commitment to my personal wellness. I’m learning I’ll have days when I fall off the skinny bitch wagon but so long as I jump back on, I’m giving myself a big old hug.

Two pounds down, 12 more to go.

  1. Nice! Don’t know if this will interfere with what you’re already doing but my husband and I started using MyFitnessPal on the iPad and iPhone apps and it’s amazing! You just click a barcode and it downloads all the nutritional content into your daily diary. My hubby lost 4 lbs in 3 days. I’m not using it to lose weight per se but because I switched to eating more whole grains and healthy foods this year, i realize they have more calories. Sugar contains lot less calories and I could usually burn it all off with my daily power yoga. But now that I’m eating food that are actually good for me I’m finding they’re alot higher calorically (think small pack of almonds = 200 cal). Anyhow, don’t know it this will help you but we’re loving it.

  2. Oh, and when I say I miss bread I mean the good stuff (french baguette or bagels) not the low calorie whole wheat stuff I’ve been eating.

  3. Oh, my. I feel you. My first son was allergic to dairy so in order to breastfeed him I had to nix all dairy. It lasted a year. It was SO so hard! I am a cheeseaholic and a vegetarian so it messed with my protein intake (I had to obviously find other sources). On the upside, I lost weight like you wouldn’t believe!

  4. Yay!!! I miss cheese and bread.

  5. Wooo!! Way to go!! Have some light string cheese or some feta or goat cheese! Lots of flavor in a small amount. Nice job!
