We say our kids grow up so fast, I think I’ve figured out why.
Many infant and toddler apparel companies have begun selling skinny jeans. Because babies and toddlers need skinny jeans. In fact, they demand them because that diaper adds a little too much junk in the trunk.

And then Heelarious came out with baby high heels. Because babies need high heels. Now, Heelarious’ baby heels are meant to be adorably hilarious for babies 0-6 months and are completely safe with a collapsible heel. I’m sort of digging these zebra print heels for myself, wish they came in a 7 wide.
Are we loving or loathing these new baby and toddler fashions?

I actually kinda like the skinny jeans. But the high heels is a big issue with me. Skinny jeans just seem like a style – like they can have straight or boot cut or skinny or whatever. Everything is covered just as much as with any other pair of jeans. The high heels really bother me, though. It’s like trying to sexualize our children. I don’t like that at all. My friend & I were out trying to find some basic sandals or easy shoes her 5 year old could wear to kindergarten & almost everything had a heel!! She’s 5!! What does she need a high heel for?
I agree with Alexandria – the shoes seem cheesy! Since I don’t know what I am having this time around, if I end up with a girl, it’ll be interesting to see what I end up buying while I’m out and about shopping! Lori – as far as the heels go – if they came in your size I could so see those on you! 😉
I love skinny jeans for babies. I think they make more of an “impact” when the baby is walking, but my son has been wearing them since last fall. But the shoes, I don’t love so much. They just seems cheesy.
They are only made for babies size 0-6 months, so they are not meant for walkers. Just in case the baby could walk in them, the “heels” are made of cotton batting and fabric so they aren’t real heels. Pretty hilarious IMO!
Q received a pair of skinny jeans for his 1st birthday, and they’re pretty cute, especially with a rocker tee and his Vans. They’re not too tight and they seem comfy for him, but he barely has a butt, so that could be why.
The skinny jeans don’t bother me all that much, but I do understand your point. What I do have a problem with is mini skirts and string bikinis for babies and toddlers.
Haha, this is pretty cute. I’ve always wanted a daughter to doll up. But explain to me, what is a collapsible heel and why would that make it safe?
I, too, wish I could rock skinny jeans!
Let kids be kids! With the pressures of the world, the media, friends, culture, it’s hard enough for me to ignore the pressure of being prettier, thinner… And as a mom of 3 girls, one on the brink of being a preteen, let them be young and innocent as long again. And for our family, modesty is always an issue. Just personal standards, nothing too low cut, too tight or too short.
As for the crib shoes! So funny! So silly and impractical but would be a fun, silly shower gift!!
Oh too keep my babies little for a little longer!
That and a tighter butt!
I really didn’t like the idea of my 3 yr old wearing skinny jeans. But I was in The Children’s Place and they looked so cute so I bought them with a t-shirt. She wore them to pre-k today and they were really cute. My problem with my kid growing up to fast and looking older, are the sick freaks in this world who prey on children. I’ve got to loosen up though and allow her to be the cute lil girl she is without worrying about weirdos. So skinny jeans are a step forward for me.
I wish I could have ever rocked the skinny jeans, hee hee!
I wish I could still rock the skinny jeans!
