I Have Never Cooked a Turkey

Well, you read the title.

I don’t know how to cook a turkey and as long as I have my dad around, I may just never have to.

My dad cooks Thanksgiving dinner right down to the homemade stuffing because it’s his thing.  And thank God it’s his thing because I know it wouldn’t be mine.  All I’d be serving up is a large helping of stress complete with 4 sides of anxiety, burned.

Our Thanksgiving is all about family, friends, food, wine and Turkey Notes.  If you don’t know what a Turkey Note is then I’m assuming you aren’t from Davenport, IA.

I’ve written this Turkey Note especially for my Mommy Friends:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I don’t know how to cook a turkey,
But you probably do.

While I’m thankful for a million things this Thanksgiving, I’m thankful most of all for my dad, the man who forever owns the holiday (and makes me special stuffing outside the bird so it’s not mushy).

Wishing my Mommy Friends a most wonderful Thanksgiving!
