I believe every mom has a memorable missing tooth story. I mean, kids have like 24 teeth or something so there’s gotta be a gem of a story in there somewhere.
My Yahoo Shine Parenting Gurus and I were asked to share some Tooth Fairy wisdom or other such anecdote and the story of Boy Wonder’s first lost tooth was by far the most memorable.

One of my son’s friends lost their tooth and I was telling my son about it excitedly, he had a look of horror on his face. That’s when I realized he’d never come across the idea that his teeth might actually fall out someday. Lol.
ps-I have found some good info and tips on caring for kids’ teeth on this Mom’s Guide.
So my link didn’t work…you can also copy & paste: http://www.1dental.com/moms-guide/) to see the Mom’s Guide. It’s a great resource!

Jeri, my husband thinks keeping baby teeth is totally gross too!
Our oldest child lost his first tooth at school and lost it. His teacher was almost in tears when she told me that they couldn’t find it! It didn’t bother me a bit. I think it is just gross to keep baby teeth!
