JumpStart Review and Giveaway

Mommy Friends, I am so excited to share my experience with JumpStart by Knowledge Adventure!

My eldest is moving into the 3^rd grade (AKA “The Big Time”) this fall and would have loved nothing more than to spend his entire summer watching re-runs of SpongeBob but I had more ambitious ideas in mind.  I wanted to keep those little wheels turning in his head this summer, and why not?  Learning should be fun!

I was so excited to start my JumpStart adventure and start playing!  I played for about 30 seconds before my eldest began begging to play and he spent the next 2 hours glued to the amazing lands located in this virtual world.  He created a personal avatar or “Jumpee” named Derrick VolcanoLizard that he customized to look just like him! 

What I liked most about my son’s online adventures was just how personal he was able to make his 3-D gaming experience.  He was in control, deciding which magical lands to visit and even what modes of transportation he would use to get there.  The lands were highly interactive and visually stunning and as he progressed he unlocked new levels for even more fun and adventure!  Lessons involving math and reading were being practiced and all he knew was how much fun he was having!

There are lands designed for all ages!

Little BooBoo, while still new to the computer was having a blast playing with me in StoryLand, aimed at 3-5 year olds.

AdventureLand and MarineLand, designed for children Kindergarten through 2^nd grade was a big hit with my eldest.

FutureLand was my eldest’s favorite land which is designed for older school-age children.  I haven’t seen this kid so excited by a game ever and he is a certifiable gamer!  Of all the fun and excitement, he spent the most time in the Enchanted Sanctuary where he hatched and raised his very own dragon!  How cool is that? 

I don’t think I’m alone with my concerns about my child playing games online and it’s wonderful to know he can play in a safe and educational environment.  JumpStart provided easy navigation and instruction when needed so I didn’t have to race into the office every 2 seconds to help him either, these things matter to busy Mommy Friends!
