Fall is here! Pumpkin spice this, cinnamon that, pumpkin patch pictures and of course, Halloween costumes.
Halloween costumes are either hits or misses. When they’re hits, they’re big hits and when they’re misses, they’re catastrophic failures.
I’ve had my share of both.
Miss: Boy Wonder as a pumpkin, 2002.
Miss: Boy Wonder as a court jester, 2003. Funny how? Like a clown funny? Do I amuse you?
Miss: Boy Wonder as a racecar driver, 2004. You can almost tell what he’s about to say.
Hit: Boy Wonder as Thomas, 2005. Toot toot!
Hit: Boy Wonder as Spiderman, 2006.
Hit: Boy Wonder as Venom, 2007.
Miss: Little BooBoo as a pumpkin, 2007. Clearly unhappy with the hand-me-down, clearly I didn’t learn the first time.
Hit: Boy Wonder as a stormtrooper, 2008.
Hit: Little BooBoo as Darth Vader, 2008. Because nothing on this earth is funnier than a baby Darth Vader.
Hit: Boy Wonder as Darth Vader, 2009. Boy Wonder, I am your mother (with iffy taste in Halloween costumes).
Miss: Little BooBoo as Little BooBoo, 2009…flat out refusing to wear his Yoda costume.
What are your Halloween hits and misses?

Oh my gosh, I love the pumpkin shots! Definitely not a miss in my book!! (However differently the wee ones felt about it!)

Last year Q was a tiger and he did pretty well, but this year we’re not sure yet. Possibly a robot since he’s into them at the moment. I sense some aluminum foil disasters with that one, though.
I have to say that most years have been a hit for DD’s costumes. Except for her first 3 years, I picked her costumes. After that it has all been her choice.This year however she wants to be “Teapot sized” Alice. This is the dress that Johnny Depp’s character makes out of a bit of ribbon. I will of course be making the dress out of something way more substancial because she will be cold in it. My plan is to make it doubled layered with the inside being flannel. Hoping for a very warm Halloween.
LOL this is my first halloween with my little baby girl and theres so many adorabl costumes i cant choose! The pumpkin costumes are so cute and im sorry but very funny. I hope hope hope she doesn’t cry lol. Plus its always so hot hopefully she doesn’t sweat a bunch! Our 8 year old will be with her mom so hopefully she gets her something good.
Aww, such cute pictures! Seriously, though, I’ve had my share of tears with Halloween too. I think we like our little one’s in costumes more than they like to be in costumes sometimes!
This year Boy Wonder will be going as a skull ninja (for whatever that is) and BooBoo will be Spiderman. It’s a hit this year, they love their costumes! Aww, a monkey is sooooo cute! As for a potential miss, I’ve had many as you’ve seen. Best of luck and the only good advice I can offer is to make sure the costume isn’t itchy on the inside like the court jester costume was. It’s was ridiculous inside, I would have been crying too!
Cute! What will they be this year?Last year my little guy was a monkey and that was our first Halloween. Still haven’t quite figured this year out but I’m worried it is going to be a miss!
